Factory paint codes

2022 Toyota Tacoma

10 factory colors were offered on the Third generation (AN300) Tacoma. Your code is on the driver's door jamb sticker on the line marked C/TR — the characters before the slash.

10 colors 4 finishes: Solid, Tri-coat, Metallic, Pearl Third generation (AN300) (2016–2023)

Verified against 2 independent sources: 2022 Toyota Tacoma official brochure (dealer CDN mirror): https://cdn.dealereprocess.org/cdn/brochures/toyota/2022-tacoma.pdf — Tacoma Colors & Trims page lists Midnight Black Metallic, Blue Crush Metallic, Army Green, Electric Lime Metallic, Lunar Rock, Barcelona Red Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, Super White; PaintRef Toyota cross-reference, 2022 Tacoma: https://www.paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?year=2022&make=Toyota&model=Tacoma&rows=100 — returns exactly these 10 codes.

A heavy reshuffle. Celestial Silver Metallic 1J9 replaces Silver Sky Metallic 1D6; Blue Crush Metallic 8W7 replaces Voodoo Blue 8T6; Electric Lime Metallic 588 comes in as the TRD Pro exclusive; Lunar Rock 6X3 drops its TRD Pro restriction and becomes broadly available. Cement 1H5 is gone.

Where to find your paint code

Driver's door jamb (B-pillar), on the white or silver build sticker, on the row labelled C/TR.

Driver's door jamb

  1. Open the driver's door and look at the B-pillar at roughly latch height.
  2. Find the row labelled C/TR on the printed sticker.
  3. The three characters before the slash are the paint code.
  4. The characters after the slash are the interior trim code, not paint.

If the sticker is missing or faded

  • Call any Toyota dealer parts desk with your VIN. They can read the code off the build record, usually in under a minute and at no cost.
  • Genuine Toyota touch-up part numbers embed the paint code — part 00258-004X0-21 is code 4X0.

Other Tacoma years

Color availability changed year to year. Codes often carried over; names sometimes did not.
