Factory paint codes

2023 Nissan Altima

9 factory colors were offered on the L34 (sixth generation) Altima. Your code is on the driver's door jamb sticker on the line marked C/TR — the characters before the slash.

9 colors 4 finishes: Metallic, Pearl, Solid, Tri-coat L34 (sixth generation) (2019–2026)

Verified against 3 independent sources: Nissan USA official 2023 Altima brochure (nissanusa.com CDN): https://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam/Nissan/us/vehicle-brochures/2023/2023-nissan-altima-brochure-en.pdf - CHOOSE YOUR COLOR page names Gray Sky Pearl and Garnet Pearl Metallic and drops Sunset Drift and Storm Blue; ImportArchive: https://importarchive.com/color/kch/nissanaltima2023 confirms KCH = Gray Sky Pearl on the 2023 Altima, and https://importarchive.com/color/nca/nissanaltima2023 confirms NCA = Garnet Pearl Metallic; PaintRef Nissan Altima 2023 cross-reference: https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?year=2023&manuf=Nissan&model=Altima - corroborates NCA (transcribed 'Carnet Pearl') and the removal of EBL and RBD.

Facelift year and a palette swap that keeps the count at nine. In: Gray Sky Pearl (KCH) and Garnet Pearl Metallic (NCA). Out: Sunset Drift ChromaFlair (EBL) and Storm Blue Metallic (RBD) - neither belongs on a 2023 Altima. Platinum trim is dropped, so the grid is S SV SR SL, with all nine colours on all four trims. Pearl White TriCoat, Gray Sky Pearl and Scarlet Ember Tintcoat are the extra-cost finishes. Note that PaintRef lists only eight chips for 2023 because it omits KCH; the brochure and ImportArchive both carry it.

Where to find your paint code

Colour label on the driver's-side door jamb / B-pillar

Driver's door jamb

  1. Open the driver's door and look at the B-pillar and door jamb area.
  2. Find the small silver, white or black Colour ID tag carrying barcodes and dense alphanumeric text.
  3. Read the 3-character value printed under the heading COLOR (for example QAB, K23, XEX).
  4. On a two-tone Rogue the label shows the single X-prefixed combination code, not the individual body and roof codes.

If the sticker is missing or faded

  • Check low on the door jamb near the striker - on some cars the label sits in the bottom corner and needs a crouch to read.
  • Look at the bottom corner of the VIN plate, where the colour code is tucked beneath the word COLOR.
  • Call Nissan Consumer Affairs at 1-800-647-7261 with the VIN and ask for the factory paint code.
  • Ask any Nissan dealer parts department to run the VIN - the build record lists the exterior colour code.

Other Altima years

Color availability changed year to year. Codes often carried over; names sometimes did not.
